Watkins Road Transfer Station and Recycling Centre
Always a pleasure going to Watkins Road Transfer Station! Easy to access and I enjoy throwing the rubbish over the edge in to the bins - it's somewhat therapeutic. The staff there are fantastic and courteous and super helpful. It's a shame we no longer have road side collection in the SJ Shire but this free tip (for shire residents) is a great substitute.

The vibe at this tip is polar opposite to armadale tip. The staff are very friendly and easygoing (while the armadale staff are scraped from the bottom of the barrel). It's also free for people living in SJ Shire which is great.

Great place to get rid of stuff. If you have too much stuff. Not so great to get stuff if you don't have enough stuff, because they are there watching and helping those people who need help to get rid of stuff. But if you have a big item of stuff, that's actually a good thing.

Watkins Road Transfer Station and Recycling Centre
Free trailer hire is handy (with set hours and only for use within the shire). Several different drop-off points depending on what items you have. Workers are happy to direct you to the correct drop-off spot.The tip shop is quite average, most items were rusty/dirty/dusty or broken, there seems to be a lack of storage space so a lot of it is stored in the weather.

Unbelievable.Best trip to the tip I've ever had, in my life, bar none, and I met my wife and we found two of our three kids at the tip.Mick and Logan were so helpful, friendly and cheerful - and can Logan drive a forklift!Amazing work SJ Shire; we even got a (free) courtesy trailer to bring our junk to its new forever home.I hope people are donating needle and thread, because you guys are ripping...
